Finns have a close relationship with nature. Kindergartners spend most of the day playing indoors and outdoors, the goal is to ensure children are happy and responsible individuals. For many years the schools in Finland have received media attention for the consistent strong performance of 15-year-olds on international tests.
In 2015 when I visited Finland I read about a businessman caught driving at 65km/hour in a 50 zone, “police pulled him over, checked federal taxpayer database to determine his income, consulted the handbook and confirmed he was required to pay €54,000”; traffic and other violations are assessed based on earnings.
