While warm beaches, samba music, and soccer attract visitors to Brazil, the people and their culture entice us return. Bossa Nova music lured me, the music I enjoyed when I was young while listening to old vinyl records that my father played. In 2006 I traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Petropolis, Curitiba, and Foz de Iguazu; in 2007 I visited Fortaleza, Salvador de Bahia, Jericoacara and Porto Seguro. I appreciated the culture of northeast of Brazil while trying to practice my recently learned Portuguese language.
