In 2018 I traveled to Honduras, country blessed with rainforests, warm beaches and barrier reefs. In 1993 Honduras passed its first environmental law after pressure from organizations trying to protect the rainforests that are being destroyed by tree loggers and industry corporations. After a storm killed thousands in 1998, aerial surveys show that mudslides are worse in deforested areas.
The Archeological Site of Copán was a Mayan kingdom until it was suddenly abandoned. Now, in the new town of Copán, while the young keep up with technology, the wise elders like Marina teach and guide them on the good habits of past generations.
