With a decent knowledge of French and a good travel plan, I arrived in Morocco on a late summer day; traveling this country was fascinating. I began in Casablanca by the Atlantic Ocean, moved on to the amazing Atlas Mountains the heart of Morocco and last, the Sahara Desert. ‘“Major Lawrence what is it that attracts you personally to the desert?” “It is clean.” answered Lawrence of Arabia.’
In Casablanca, while visiting Hassan II Mosque, I learned its location overhanging the ocean was chosen from an ancient verse that reads: ‘The throne of God was on water.’
