Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas, was rediscovered in 1911 and has become a magnet to curious travelers like me. I traveled in memory of my late father and the photos of ancient ruins he took when he traveled there in 1948. I followed my father’s footsteps and traveled to Cuzco, the former capital of the Inca Empire Tahuantinsuyo. It was fascinated to learn about the Inca culture. In 1536 destroyed most of their road system to save Machu Picchu. According to the story for this reason the conquerors never discovered the trail that leads to Machu Picchu.
