Grandpa, as he called himself, was looking forward to retiring after traveling from Sydney to Arkansas and back every six weeks for 25 years. He was a smoker who had tried unsuccessfully to quit; only his love of his wife and children helped him endure the long flights without smoking. As I listened, the sorrow that I first felt became admiration and this led me to remember the true reason I was traveling so far &#8211; to fulfill a dream of my dear father. As an architect, painter and classical music lover my father dreamed of enjoying a symphony performance at Sydney Opera House. The flight experience and fulfilling the dream of my late father changed forever my way of traveling.
